Q1 2025 Highlights and What's Upcoming in Freelancer Nation

We are excited to share some highlights of our 2025 so far and what is upcoming.

Dear Creatives,

Time flies, we are now into March of 2025. Many things have been brewing since the start of this year and we are excited to share some highlights as well as what is upcoming.

In our last December / January newsletter, we shared about the inaugural series of AI co-creation workshops happening in January - CoCreateSG.

These workshops were created in partnership with SG Enable to bring together the able-bodied and persons with disabilities to collaborate and harness the power of AI to enhance their creative potential.

The participants were provided with accessible GenAI tools, training and mentorships where they explore and experience how AI can help elevate their creative journeys and discover new ways of creating and telling their stories.

Private screening on the final outputs

Over the past 2 months, the CoCreateSG participants have shown through their perseverance, tenacity and creativity that anything is possible if we unite our hearts and minds to work together.

7 Teams comprising 30 participants including 8 persons with disabilities, all totally new to AI video production, in 2 months managed to co-create 7 short films and over 300 images by using the provided GenAI tools. What we have achieved together is definitely nothing short of an amazing feat from all of them.

To celebrate this amazing effort, we will be having a private screening event at the Cathay cinema, Clementi 321 on 25 April, 7.30p.m - 9 p.m. to feature their outstanding productions and at the same time render support to the “Save our Screens, Support Cathay” movement.

We are giving away 10 private screening tickets to our newsletter subscribers to thank you for your support. You will be among the first to view all their amazing works and mingle with people in the creative industry.  If you are interested to join this screening event, please register your interest.

10 lucky readers who registered will receive email confirmation on their ticket and program details.

Empower deeper exploration into AI

The content industry is undergoing a massive transformation where GenAI is becoming a powerful tool to elevate—not to replace—creatives' artistic talent.

DEAR.AI is Singapore’s first generative AI content studio, co-founded by Jaze Phua and Raymus Chang, with the support of CreativesAtWork. DEAR.AI had the honor of being interviewed on CNBC’s “CONVERGE” which is a platform that explores growth opportunities at the intersection of investment, innovation, sustainability and leadership with help from the world’s most influential leaders.

In the interview, we revealed what we’re building at DEAR.AI - a unified AI dashboard that integrates various creative tools into one seamless platform. At the moment, AI tools are scattered, making workflows fragmented and inefficient. By having a unified AI dashboard, we aim to empower creators to develop original IPs, streamline their processes, and foster a thriving creative community.

Freelancer Nation together with DEAR.AI is empowering creatives to explore further into this AI space. If you are ready to embrace AI to push creative boundaries or already at the forefront of it, join us on this journey to redefine storytelling and the future of content creation! Share with us what you have been doing or like to explore into. Let’s Connect if you are keen to be part of this industry revolution to learn and grow with our community of creatives.

Preserving “Human touch” is paramount

While we cannot ignore how AI is fundamentally changing the industry, the way to keep creatives irreplaceable by AI is to hone our human sensitivity and nuances of “human touch” that brings about authentic connection.

As such, Freelancer Nation is introducing the “Freelancer-for-Freelancer” training program where we invite established industry practitioners who are passionate about their craft and willing to impart their knowledge to help creatives hone their acumen.

It will be in small class settings with a minimum of 10 participants to start. At the end of each course, participants will be provided with community support for continual learning and growing of their freelancing businesses.

The first upcoming series will be on Digital Content Creation & Marketing for Clients series consisting of 2 separate modules that can be taken on their own but best taken together for completeness. This series as a whole is designed to accelerate creative businesses with better processes of managing clients, create better visual contents, and run marketing campaigns for the clients.

Both the In-person courses for Module 1: Social Media Management and Marketing for Clients and Module 2: Creating High Quality Visual Content are scheduled to run on 10 April and 17 April respectively. The classes will commence when a minimum of 10 participants signed up and completed their registration process.

More details on the course outline as well as trainer bio can be found in the Freelancer Nation Training page. Do sign up soon if you are interested to have the runs in April.

We have also started a monthly consult session for our Freelancer Nation community who would like to seek more clarity on starting out in freelancing  or kickoff conversations to explore opportunities for deeper collaborations.

Feel free to drop us a message if you are keen to connect or know more about the community.
